Atmar, Carter discuss reduction in violence, ceasefire

Minister Atmar briefed the UK senior officials on the evolving Afghanistan Peace Negotiations and thanked the United Kingdom for its continued support for the Afghan-led peace process.

Atmar also extended his gratitude for the United Kingdom's enduring partnership with Afghanistan over the last nineteen years.

Discussing recent clashes in Helmand province, the two sides underlined the need for reduction of violence and discussed the prospects of establishing a comprehensive ceasefire in Afghanistan.
