81 new Covid-19 cases registered in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Saturday that 81 more individuals tested positive for Covid-19 in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, the ministry said 227 individuals underwent tests and 81 of them were diagnosed with the virus, taking the nation’s tally to 40,768.

In  the fresh cases, 27 were detected in Balkh, 23 in Takhar, 11 in Baghlan, 7 in Daikundi, 6 in Kabul, 4 in Kandahar, 2 in Urozganand one in Kunar province.

13 individuals recovered from the pandemic during the period, pushing up the number of recoveries to 34,023.

At least four people lost their lives to the disease in the past 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 1,511.
