PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Afghan forces killed 18 Taliban insurgents and injured 15 others during an operation in northern Baghlan province, police said on Thursday.
Baghlan police chief Brig. Mohammad Wais Samimi told reporters here that the Afghan forces conducted an air-and-ground operation against the Taliban in Khost district last night.
He said 18 rebel fighters were killed and 15 others wounded in the offensive that led to clearance of 25 villages from the presence of insurgents.
The Taliban, who recently waged a multi-direction attack on Khost district, have so far said nothing about the operation.
