KABUL (Pajhwok): As President Donald Trump’s campaign weighs legal options, his democratic rival has won two critical states in the upper Midwest in the 2020 3lection.
Some other battleground states remained too close to call, with final votes being counted in Arizona, where Joe Biden’s lead has decreased, The New York Times reported.
The democratic runner, speaking in Delaware, hoped he would bag the 270 electoral votes. On Wednesday, Biden was declared the winner of Michigan and Wisconsin, which Trump won four years ago.
Meanwhile, the Trump campaign said it would seek a recount in Wisconsin and announced that it had taken legal action to halt the vote count in Michigan and the extension of ballot deadlines in Pennsylvania.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Biden narrowly led in several key states. If the trend persists, he may reach the critical Electoral College threshold and the presidency.
The incumbent president will have to retain his leads in states like Georgia and Pennsylvania to win re-election.
