Moneychangers union head’s son kidnapped in Kunduz

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen kidnapped the son of the Moneychangers’ Union head in northern Kunduz province on Sunday, a public representative said.

SayedAsadullah Sadat, a member of the provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News the son of Haji Khan was abducted in the limits of 2nd police district of Kunduz City in the morning.

He said in reaction to the abduction of their head’s son, all moneychangers had closed their shops.

Sadat said kidnapping, targeted killings and insecurity had increased in the province recently and the authorities concerned must take concrete steps in this regard.

Haji Khan declined to comment on the kidnapping of his son.

But IsmatullahMuradi, the governor’s spokesman, confirmed that the son of moneychangers union’s head had been kidnapped.

He said no arrest had been made so far in this regard but a manhunt was underway for the kidnappers.
