ALP commander gunned down in Balkh

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a commander of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) in northern Balkh province, an official said on Thursday.

Police spokesman Adel Shah Adel told Pajhwok Afghan News Amir Gul, the ALP commander for Chamtal district, was killed in Mazar-i-Sharif on Wednesday.

He said the ALP commander was gunned down in front of his house in limits of the 5th police district. The killers managed to flee the area.
