KABUL (Pajhwok): The global tally of coronavirus cases has reached 60 million with the deaths surpassing 1.42 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
In its latest update on Thursday, the university said the number of positive cases of coronavirus reached above 60 million worldwide. The death toll stood at 1,426,000 and more than 42m recovered from the pandemic so far.
The US is the worst-hit country with the world’s highest number of cases where 13 million were infected and about 267,000 died.
After US, Brazil and India are the worst-hit countries by Covid-19. About 9.2 million cases surfaced in India and 6.15 million in Brazil.
After emerging in the Wuhan city of China last December, the Covid-19 virus has spread to at least 210 countries around the globe.
