KABUL (Pajhwok): A reliable source on Monday said President Ashraf Ghani had asked the judiciary to execute the perpetrators of the attack on Kabul University as soon as possible.
On November 2, a group of gunmen stormed the campus of Kabul University in Kabul, killing 19 people and injuring 22 others.
The government blamed the Taliban for the attack but Daesh or Islamic State (IS) rebels claimed its responsibility in social media.
First Vice President Amrullah Saleh has several times claimed that a number of suspects involved in the attack had been arrested.
In today’s report, he wrote that National Directorate of Security (NDS) had asked him not to share information about the arrested individuals involved in Kabul University assault.
Saleh thanked the president as he directed the judiciary to execute the arrested persons in connection with the university attack.
On the other hand, a well-placed source told Pajhwok Afghan News that during the meeting of law enforcement high council, President Ghani asked the judicial organs to sentence the attackers of Kabul University to death at the earliest possible.
