Taliban want US to lift curbs on leaders

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): US special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad has met the head of Taliban’s political office and chief of the movement’s negotiating team in Qatar.

Dr. Mohammad Naeem, spokesman for Taliban’s political office, tweeted:

“Friday evening, the head of Taliban’s political office Mullah Baradar, Abdul Hakeem and the delegation members had a meeting with US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad.”

He said the value of the agreement signed between the two sides was also discussed. Likewise, the release of the remaining Taliban prisoners and removal of the movement members and leaders from the UN blacklist also came under discussion.

The Intra-Afghan negotiations, especially lately, made progresses and some other relevant issues were discussed by the two sides, he added.
