KABUL (Pajhwok): Taliban political office head in Qatar Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has identified the UN blacklist, the delay in release of Taliban detainees and spread of rumors as hurdles to the peace process.
Taliban political office spokesperson Dr. Naeem said Mulla Baradar expressed these views in a virtual conference on human rights at the Counterterrorism Investigation Center attended by 50 representatives.
Baradar said peace was the primary need of every society as without peace there was no economic, educational, cultural, social and political development. He claimed the Taliban favored peace and had always looked forward to solving the conflict through talks.
He added the Taliban wanted an inclusive Islamic system in Afghanistan, in which national interests, infrastructure and women rights under Islamic values were preserved. He said increasing the youth capacities and employment opportunities will be top priorities in the future government.
Baradar further said Afghanistan was not a battleground for proxy wars of regional countries and they would not allow foreign interference in the future government of the country.
He showed optimism about the intra-Afghan peace negotiations and urged both sides to assist each other in forming an inclusive outline for the talks.
