2 civilians, policeman gunned down in Balkh

KABUL (Pajhwok): Gunmen shot and killed two civilians and one policeman in Balkh district of northern Balkh province on Thursday, police said.

Police spokesman Adil Shah Adil told Pajhwok Afghan News that the gunmen first fired at the two civilians and killed them and when a policeman tried to help the civilians, he was also attacked and killed.

He said the attackers had fled, but police were searching for them.

Elsewhere in Kapisa province, two Taliban militants were killed when a landmine they were burying on a road went off accidently.

The blast took place in Nijrab district, said Kapisa police spokesman Shaiq Shorish.
