Contract to export 2,000 tonnes white cumin to India signed

KABUL (Pajhwok): An Indian Company Jabs International has signed contract with an Afghan Company to import 2,000 tonnes of white cumin worth 308 million afghani from Afghanistan, an official said on Friday.

Mohammad Nafai Sarwary, commerce attaché in the Afghan Consulate General in Mombai, said a contract to export white cumin from Afghanistan to Mombai City was signed with Jab International.

He said the contract was signed with official of the Jabs International Company in the presence of Afghan Consulate General Zakia Wardak.

Wardak termed the signing of White Cumin export contract with Indian Company vital for Afghanistan at a time when economic activities greatly frozen by the outbreak of coronavirus.

She added Afghan Consulate General in Mumbai signed similar agreement with other Indian companies.

According to Sarwari, earlier, Jabs International imported white cumin from Pakistan and Syria but as a result of the Afghan Consulate General innovation and exhibition of the product in the expo the company showed interest to import white cumin from Afghanistan.
