President approves Acquisition Resettlement Dept strategy

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has approved strategy of the Acquisition and Resettlement Department, according a statement from Presidential Palace on Friday.

The president approved the strategy during a meeting on water management, land and urban affairs and environment.

Secretary Land and Urban Affairs Ministry provided briefing on the Acquisition and Resettlement affairs and termed acceleration of public property registration rights, better arrangement for land acquisition, acquisition against fair price, arrangements for rehabilitation and improving the positive impact of acquisition on the public as main goals of the strategy.

He also provided detail information on the acquisition procedure, responsibilities of the Land Acquisition Department, classification and the nature of acquisition projects, budgetary issues and other challenges.

After hearing the views of different sides, the president approved the strategy and directed government authorities to haled necessary consultation with technical authorities at the time of the approval of new projects.

The president also directed concerned authorities to resolved thechical issues pertaining development projects in the New Year.
