KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 23 people have been reportedly killed when Israel Air Force conducted a series of airstrikes in Deir al-Zour and Albu Kamal regions of Syria.
US media reported that Israel launched the airstrikes based on intelligence information provided to the country by the US.
The source added, Israel targeted weapons and ammunitions’ warehouses in Deir al-Zour, Miadin and Albu Kamal areas of Syria on Wednesday.
Sana News, a Syrian state-agency confirmed the bombardments but did not provide further details about the incident.
On the other hand, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the conflict in Syria, said 23 individuals were killed as a result of 18 airstrikes conducted by Israeli aircrafts.
But the source did not clarify whether those killed were civilians or Syrian soldiers.
It is worth mentioning that Israel, Turkey and some other countries had targeted people in Syria they deem as a threat to their territories.
