3 killed, 2 injured in Herat accident

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Three people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in western Herat province, officials said on Friday.

A fielder car crashed head-on into a truck on the Herat-Torghundi road in the Kamar Kalagh area on Thursday evening, Herat governor’s spokesman Jilani Farhad told Pajhwok Afghan News.

A child, a woman and a man were killed and two men were injured in the incident, he said, with one injured in critical condition.

The governor’s spokesman said all the victims were occupants of the fielder car.

Such fatal accidents are often blamed on speed, disobedience of traffic rules and poor road conditions.
