KABUL (Pajhwok): Police have arrested two girls in connection with extorting money from famous individuals in the 4th police district of Kabul, the first vice-president said on Sunday.
Amrullah Saleh wrote on his Facebook page that the two girls clad modern dresses extorted money from the famous and dignitaries.
Saleh said the girls threatened men with complaining to their families and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) of molestation in case they failed to pay them money.
The VP added the two girls succeeded in trapping men, who paid them money to save their reputation and escape possible ignominy.
“This issue had not been addressed for years,” Saleh wrote, saying the limited presence of women in the judiciary and police had made it difficult to investigate criminal cases involving females.
