Russia stresses constructive intar-Afghan talks to end conflict

KABUL (Pajhwok): Russia has stressed the launch of substantive and constructive intra-Afghan talks as soon as possible to put an end to the bloody civil war and create an effective national government in Afghanistan, a statement said on Friday.

This was stated in a meeting between Zameer Kabulov, Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Second Asia Department, and visiting Taliban delegation in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry statement said.

The Russian side spoke out in favour of launching substantive and constructive intra-Afghan talks as soon as possible so as to put an end to the bloody civil war and create an effective national government in Afghanistan.

The Taliban representatives expressed appreciation of Moscow’s active efforts towards national reconciliation and Russia’s role and potential in helping the Afghan people build a peaceful, independent and economically self-sufficient state.
