KABUL (Pajhwok): National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib has said that the establishment of an interim government in Afghanistan “means a permanent opportunity for foreign intervention”.

Mohib tweeted these remarks after the Taliban demanded resignation of President Ashraf Ghani.

Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, a member of Taliban’s negotiating team, told a press conference in Moscow on Friday they were ready to make peace with the government if Ghani resigns.

Mohib said those who did not stop killing Muslims amid continuation of peace talks must realize that the Afghans now understood the value and importance of democracy.

“There is no more opportunity for any foreign agenda in the country, the interim government means a permanent opportunity for foreign intervention,” he added.

Meanwhile, Shamim Khan Katawazi, director of the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG), said Afghans would not allow anyone to import the plot of foreign capitals to disrupt the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
