MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The governor on Thursday said 104 of total 160 townships in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, have been built illegally on usurped land.
Addressing a joint conference with provincial police chief and other local officials, Balkh governor Mohammad Farhad Azimi said they were seriously working to recover grabbed land in the city.
More than 7,500 acres of usurped land was recovered from grabbers by the local administration last week and 29 people involved in the land grabbing arrested, he added.
Azimi said 104 townships had been illegally built on usurped land . . .
