KABUL (Pajhwok): The US Embassy in Kabul on Friday expressed concern over corruption in the budget meant for fighting coronavirus and urged Afghan officials to stop it.
In a statement on its twitter account, the US embassy said dozens of Afghan officials had been referred to the prosecutor’s office for alleged misuse of funds earmarked to fight the virus.
The embassy wrote: "These violations have not only hurt Afghans financially, but also delayed their access to health and vital facilities. Stop corruption!"
This follows many reports in the media about corruption in the money allocated for the fight against coronavirus in the country.
