HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): At least 17 people were injured when a huge fire broke out at the Islam Qala customs office in western Herat province on the border with Iran on Saturday, an official said.
Herat public health department spokesman Mohammad RafiqShirzai told Pajhwok Afghan News that the injured were evacuated to a health center in Kohsan district. He said seven of the injured persons were discharged after treatment.
Governor Sayed Abdul Wahid Qatali said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) had requested Iran for help in extinguishing the unprecedented fire in the Islam Qala customs office.
