HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Fire erupted in the Islam Qala Port in western Herat province was controlled on Saturday night by local and Iranian fire fighters, an official said on Sunday.
Governor Spokesperson Jilani Farhad did not provide information about human losses in the incident, but Iranian media claimed around 40 people, including truck drivers, have been killed.
On Saturday, Herat governor said extinguishing the fire was a priority at the moment as there was possibility of major loss. He said the number of casualties was not clear so far.
Local residents on the other hand claimed some gas-tanker drivers . . .
