KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Thursday said 18 new positive Covid-19 cases were registered in the last 24 hours across the country.
The ministry in a statement said 2,029 people underwent tests since Wednesday and the virus was detected in 18 people, pushing the overall tally to 55,575.
It said 9 cases were detected in Helmand, 2 in Balkh, 2 in Parwan, 1 each in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Nangrahar and Logar provinces.
No one died from the infection during the period that saw 172 individuals recovering; taking the recoveries to 48,798.
