MoI, Supreme Court, DAB still deny information: AIC

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Access to Information Commission (AIC) on Wednesday said access to information has improved compared to the previous years but said the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the Supreme Court and Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) still refused to share information with media.

Ainuddin Bahaduri, AIC head, talking to a government’s accountability program today, said that the commission had significant achievements in improving media sources in government organs.

He stressed that responding to complaints of people was one of the main responsibilities of the commission, saying 151 complaints had been responded in ongoing 1399 solar year.

Of these cases, 117 were resolved and 34 others were under process, Bahaduri added.

He mentioned improvement in access to information but said some government organs such as MoI, Supreme Court and DAB were weak in providing information to journalists and the public.
