KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 16 new positive COVID-19 cases and four deaths from the infection have been recorded in Afghanistan in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health said on Thursday.
The ministry said 2,144 people underwent tests during the past 24 hours and the virus was detected in 16 people, pushing the overall tally to 55,696.
Of the fresh cases, four were recorded in Kandahar, two each in Kabul and Helmand and one each in Herat, Takhar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Nimroz, Daikundi, Kunar and Nooristan provinces.
