KABUL (Pajhwok): National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib on Sunday said peace could not be established only through negotiations with Taliban insurgents.
Mohib made the remarks at a conference titled “Peace and Stability” organized by the Ministry of Border and Tribal Affairs, which was attended by a number of government officials, politicians and Pakhtunkhwa leaders.
He added negotiations with the Taliban could only bring temporary peace not durable stability.
According to Mohib, only stability can prevent conflict in the country and the ongoing conflict can be stopped if honesty ensured in talks
Mohib stressed that facts should be taken into account in order to bring peace, because these conflict had not only domestic dimensions but also external.
The NSA called on the conference to provide suggestions for peace and stability on both sides of the Durand Line.
