GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): An officer of the appellate court was killed by unidentified armed men in the capital of southern Ghazni province on Sunday, officials said.
Ghazni governor’s spokesman, Wahidullah Jummazada, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the officer was killed in Qadam Kala area in the second police district of Ghazni city today morning.
“The person killed in the incident was a computer officer of Ghazni appellate court,” he added, saying that no one was so far arrested in connection to the attack.
Targeted attacks have recently increased in many provinces of the country including capital Kabul.
Elsewhere, a policeman was also killed in a similar attack in Jalalabad, capital of eastern Nangarhar province.
Nangarhar media office told Pajhwok that a guard of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) or power utility was gunned down by unidentified armed men this morning.
The incident took place in front of the DABS office in the second police district of Jalalabad city, the source said.
No groups have so far claimed responsibility for the attacks.
