KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 21 new positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Afghanistan in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health said on Tuesday.
The ministry said 1,711 people underwent tests during the past 24 hours and the virus was detected in 21 people, pushing the overall tally to 56,016.
Of the fresh cases, 10 were recorded in Nangarhar, five in Kandahar, four in Kabul and one each in Laghman and Nuristan provinces.
At least 18 individuals recovered from the pandemic during the period, taking the recoveries to 49,499.
