Kabul: 4 killed in Pul-i-Charkhi fire exchange

KABUL (Pajhwok): Four people have been killed and as many others wounded as a result of an armed clash between two groups in Kabul, residents and police said on Tuesday.

Rassoul Khan, a resident of Pul-i-Charkhi area, told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash took place in the main bazaar late on Monday.

He said the fire exchange occurred between supporters of Wolesi Jirga member Wakil Habib Afghan and some residents of the area.

He said six people were killed and a number of others wounded. Security forces rushed to the area and closed the bazaar, he added.

Gul Hassan, another inhabitant of the locality on the eastern outskirts of the capital, said gunfire was exchanged after a clash during a sport match.

Police spokesman Firdos Faramarz confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that four individuals were killed and as many others wounded.

He said police rushed to the area and an investigation was underway.
