Nationwide Nawroz celebration kicks off in Mazar-i-Sharif

KABUL (Pajhwok): Nawroz, first day of spring and solar year, celebration begins in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province by hosting a flag associated to Hazrat-e-Ali.

Today (Sunday) is marked as the first day of Nawroz which the people of Afghanistan celebrate with zeal and cultural enthusiasm.

The day is celebrated nationwide and especially in Mazar-i-Sharif, it is also a public holiday announced by the government.

Strict security measures are put in place by government institutions to prevent any incident of insecurity and ensure the protection of public.
