Pentagon Chief Austin in Kabul on unannounced visit

KABUL (Pajhwok): US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin during an unannounced visit to Afghanistan met President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and said the meeting helped his insight on ongoing review of Doha Agreement.

Taking to his twitter account Austin said: “I’m very grateful for my time with President @ashrafghani today. I came to Afghanistan to listen and learn. This visit has been very helpful for me, and it will inform my participation in the review we are undergoing here with.”

Earlier, Austin arrived on unannounced visit to Kabul. According to officials the US defence secretary will hold meetings with Afghan civil and military leadership.
