HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Taliban have shot dead an ailing government employee in western Herat province, an official said on Monday.
Governor Syed Abdul Waheed Qatali said the government employee from Farsi district was gunned down by the insurgents.
The victim, suffering from appendix, was on his way to Herat City when the Taliban got him off the bus he was travelling in and then killed him.
Qatali did not reveal the name of the slain government employee, but said the Taliban did not take mercy even on an unwell employee of the government.
The Taliban have not spoken about the incident.
