JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Local officials and passengers at Torkham dry port say handcart owners create trouble for them.
They say handcart owners transport passenger luggage and pay bribe to Afghan and Pakistani police for allowing them to smuggle food and other items across the gate.
A few days back, a video went viral on social media showing police beating a woman who transported luggage at the port.
Nangarhar governor, after the video, said that the video clip was old, but Pajhwok correspondent who visited Torkham Port observed that problems persisted in the area and police mistreated passengers during rush hours.
