LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Sukoon Radio has begun broadcasts in southern Helmand province on Thursday amid closure of many media outlets due to security and economic issues.
Sukoon Radio on Thursday officially began airing programs and its inauguration ceremony was attended by many government officials, tribal elders and civil society activists.
Founder of the radio, Sifatullah Zahidi, in the inauguration ceremony said the radio would operate under the Afghanistan constitution and media regulations and convey people’s voice to the authorities.
He said the radio would not broadcast anything in contradiction with the national interests.
