CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Dozens of residents of Charikar, the capital of central Parwan province, on Saturday closed the Kabul-North highway to protest the kidnapping of a tribal elder in the city.
The demonstrators said Haji Hafizullah was a porcelain retailer in Charikar. Unidentified gunmen driving a vehicle abducted him at around 4am when he was on his way to the mosque.
Protesters assembled in front of the governor’s office and closed the busy roads by burning tyres on it.
