KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Tuesday said Maulvi Ahmad Kandahari, an important Taliban leader after Akhtar Mansoor, has been killed in a government operation in southern Kandahar province.
Ahmad Zia Siraj, director NDS, told a press conference today in Kabul that Maulvi Ahmad Kandahar, who has killed many Afghans, was killed in an area between Zherai and Maiwand districts on Monday.
He identified the slain person as an important member of the Taliban after Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansoor, the former Taliban supreme leader and said the Taliban would not be able transfer their commissions to Helmand . . .
