The transferable cold store was purchased by TawakulSadaat Company (TSC) two years ago from foreigners but the government has stopped its transfer without any reason, according to the company officials.

In order to expand these services Agha said their company purchased a cold store in Kandahar Airport with 3,000 tonnes of storage facility. Earlier, it belonged to ANHAM Company that held contract with foreigners and kept their food items.

After the reduction of foreign forces, the cold store stopped functioning and it was sold to different companies. Finally their company bought the facility two years ago from NaviJahan Company.

According to Mohammad Agha, ANHAM Company headed by former government official JavedLodin through an e-mail made it clear that they have no contract with the government to provide their storage to the government officials.

Some officials in Kandahar say they are aware of the matter and often share the issue with officials in the centre.

Assistant Head of the Kandahar Chamber of Commerce Abdul BaqiBena told Pajhwok Afghan News according to their information TSC had purchased a cold store in Kandahar airport from another local company.

He said it was very clear that this cold store would expand the capacity of TSC to store more fruits and agriculture products and this will directly benefit Kandahar farmers.

Kandahar Agriculture Director Syed HafeezullahSaeedi said this cold store was earlier the property of ANHAM Company and used for the storage of vegetables and fruits for foreigners.

He said according to their information the facility had been bought by TSC against $205,000 and some of its parts had already been transferred.
