6 Herat-Khawaf railroad security guards killed in blast

KABUL (Pajhwok): Six public enterprise security personnel of the Herat-Khawaf railroad have been killed in an explosion, an official said on Saturday.

Herat Governor Sayed Wahid Qatali told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast happened on Saturday afternoon when the security personnel were on a patrol.

The governor said six security personnel were killed in the blast, He blamed the Taliban for planting the landmine.

Similar blasts have happened on the Herat-Khawaf highway in the past as well.
