KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 12 a dozen public uprising members, including a commander, have been killed and eight others wounded in an Afghan Air Force (AAF) raid in northeastern Badakhshan province, a lawmaker claimed on Saturday.
Wolesi Jirga ember Maulvi Zabihullah Attique told Pajhwok Afghan News that the airstrike was conducted in Kohistan district at on Friday night.
The raid took place when Pahlawan Ashur, the uprising commander, and his personnel were heading to Raghistan district to support the security forces there.
Attique added Ashur was the commander of pro-government fighters in the district. They have been supporting the security forces for six years.
“The people of Kohistan district are demanding an investigation into the incident. They warn if the raid is not investigated, they will join the Taliban,” he said.
Pajhwok repeatedly tried to contact the Ministry of Defence for comments, but there was no immediate response.
