FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Ten security personnel have been killed and four have gone missing as a result of car-bomb attack on a public order police base in western Ghor province, officials said on Sunday.
Burhanuddin Pahlavi, police chief for Shahrak district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the bombing occurred at around 10pm on Saturday night.
“Last night, the Taliban attacked the district from east and south and detonated their car bomb near the Public Order Police base, killing 10 personnel.
“Four Public Order Police personnel have been missing and one public uprising member was seriously wounded,” Pahlavi added.
If reinforcements did not reach in time, he warned, the Taliban would once again attack the district tonight that could cause more damage.
Meanwhile, the governor’s spokesman confirmed the incident but said he did not have details because telecommunication networks were not working in the area.
All telecommunication networks have been cut off since Saturday night due to security threats in Ghor province. The Salam Telecom alone is operational.
