KABUL (Pajhwok): The Attorney General Office (AGO) says at least 366 criminal cases have been addressed by the Appellant Court in Kabul.

In a statement, the AGO said the Appellant Court registered 366 criminal cases and after completing the investigation, the cases were handed over the relevant courts.

About 72 of the cases were finalized and the accused sentenced to imprisonment and fines. Accused in seven cases were acquitted due to lack of sufficient evidence.

The cases included 26 murders, 43 robberies, four moral crimes, 28 drug trafficking, 36 traffic accidents, five corruption and other crimes.

As a result of investigation of these cases, 969,000 afghanis fine was imposed and transferred the money to the account of the government.

At least 1.124 kilograms of opium, 6.690 kilograms of hashish, 37 tablets of K and 30 bottles of alcohol were also seized in various cases, the source informed.
