MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Tens of women in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, on Thursday demanded of the government and the Taliban to agree on durable ceasefire and peace in the country.
A gathering in this regard was organised by the Women Alliance that stressed over the protection of the past 20 years achievements.
Women Alliance Head Rowina Noor said the on-going war brought nothing except destruction and losses to the people of Afghanistan.
The government and the Taliban should start a meaningful discussion to end the conflict in the near future.
Women Activist RoyaWaziri said that Afghans wanted protection of the past 20 years of achievements besides durable peace in their country.
She said any agreement that returns Afghanistan to the dark ages will not be acceptable to the people.
She stressed that the conflicting parties should show flexibility to bring the killing of non-combatants to a halt.
