KABUL (Pajhwok): Three rockets landed in separate parts of Kabul city when President Ghani and other senior government officials were offering Eidul Adha prayers in the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.
Ministry of Interior spokesman Mirwais Stanikzai said the rockets were fired from a vehicle in Parwan third area in the limits of Kabul’s 4th police district.
He said one of the rockets landed near the Eidgah Mosque, second near Gulbahar Center and the third in the Chamani Hozori area. He said details about the incident would be shared with the media later,
After offering Eid prayers, President Ghani said firing rockets could not force them to abandon prayers. “Our message is peace and their message is death. We bring light and Taliban bring darkness,” the president said, adding that no one could rule the people of Afghanistan by firing rockets.
There was no claim of responsibility for the incident. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid denied the group’s involvement.
