KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday directed the Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) to provide all necessary equipment and services to the civil airport in eastern Nangarhar province until the Jalalabad International Airport is fully inaugurated for flights.

A statement from the Presidential Palace received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that the president issued these directives during a meeting of High Economy Council on Sunday.

The source said ACAA’s general head provided operations related information and issues of MaulanaJalaluddinBalkhi, Khwaja Abdullah Ansari and Ahmad Shah Baba international airports to the meeting.

The operation responsibility of all three airports had been shifted to Afghans and ACAA has developed a comprehensive plan to prevent flight delays in the mentioned airfields, Fahd DaudMomand, ACAA’s general head said.

The meeting later approved ACAA’s operation plans in principle and directed it to also include Jalalabad and Bagram airports to the plan and then present it to the Presidential Palace.
