EU links future aid to inclusive political settlement

KABUL (Pajhwok): European Union Deputy Political Director Enrique Mora has urged an inclusive political settlement in Afghanistan to be acceptable to all sides.

On his twitter handler, Mora linked EU future support to a negotiated settlement in Afghanistan.

He warned Afghanistan will be politically isolated if power seized through force and human rights are violated.

He said he met the two Afghan negotiation teams in Doha and told them that a continued EU support was linked to a negotiated settlement accepted by Afghans. “Taking power by force is equal to non-recognition, isolation and continued conflict.”
