Taliban fire 11 mortar shells at targets in Balkh

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Taliban militants have fired nearly a dozen mortar shells into Dehdadi district and the Shaheen Military Corps in northern Balkh province.

A source in the military corps told Pajhwok Afghan News the 11 Taliban-fired mortar shells caused no harm as they did not hit the intended target.

Rahimullah, a resident of the district, told this news agency that some of the shells landed in parts of Dehdadi.

He said only two children were injured in the incident. Both government officials and Taliban have not yet commented on the strike.
