KABUL (Pajhwok): Participants of the Ashura ceremony in Kabul say they hope the day would pass off peacefully compared to the previous years as they have been assured of security by the Taliban.
After the assurance from the Taliban, the participants say they have not provided guns to their own guards for security of the day to be marked tomorrow (Thursday).
The day of Ashura is marked by Muslims as a whole, but for Shia Muslims it is a major religious commemoration of the martyrdom at Karbala of Hussein (RWA), a grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
