KABUL (Pajhwok): The presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have exchanged views on the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
Uzbek president Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a phone conversation with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon late on Monday, AKIpress reported.
Their discussion largely focussed on regional cooperation in the context of the latest situation in Afghanistan, the news agency said.
The two leaders also conferred on ways of boosting bilateral relations, strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation.
With Talban taking control of Afghanistan, the two presidents agreed to continue active interdepartmental contacts to ensure regional security and stability.
