KABUL (Pajhwok): A high level Qatar delegation led by Foreign Minister Mohammad Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani on Sunday met Acting Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund in capital Kabul, according to a statement.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations, humanitarian assistance, economic development and interaction with the world.
The leadership of the Islamic Emirate thanked the government of Qatar for supporting the Afghan people in their critical time, adding that the Doha agreement was a landmark achievement, all sides should adhere to its implementation.
The Foreign Minister of Qatar congratulated the IEA leadership and all Afghan people on the Victory and emphasized on boosting bilateral relations and attracting more international humanitarian assistance.
The meeting was attended by Deputy-prime Minister Abdul Salam Hanafi, Sheikh Abdul Hakim Haqani, Amir Khan Mutaqi, the Acting Foreign Minister, Maulavi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, Minister of Defence, Sirajuddin Haqani, Acting Ministers of Interior, Khairullah Khairkhwa, Minister of Information and Culture , Mullah Mohammad Fazel Akhund, Deputy Defence Minister, Abdul Haq Wasiq, Chief of Intelligence Dept, Annas Haqani and other dignitaries.
It is the first time that Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdur Rahman Al-thani , the Deputy PM and Foreign Minister of Qatar visited Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover.
