ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Local Taliban authorities in eastern Kunar province have rejected the smuggling of timber and deforestation reports in social media since the regime change on August 15.
In a statement, Kunar Governor Mohammad Usman Turabi said: “The Islamic Emirate is the guardian of national assets, lives and honor of bereaved Afghans. No one will be allowed to harm national assets and benefit illegally.”
Cutting down trees and taking woods out of Kunar is completely banned and authorities have been directed to take effective steps in this regard, the statement said.
